Herbs of Fire - A Celebration of Mid-Summer
June 20 / 21 / 22 Courtenay

On this weekend we will celebrate the return of the sun and the longest day of the year. Learn about the
‘hot’ herbs and when to use them, and about ‘hot’ conditions and how to treat them. Understand the ‘hot’ constitution and learn how to balance this state. On the Saturday evening we will have a solstice ritual by the fire.
Herbs of the sun The sun rules the heart, circulation, spine, spleen, thymus gland and eyes. It supports the vital force and the will. The herbs of the sun are often red or orange, pungent or acrid tasting, and warming in nature. They encourage ambition, courage, dignity and self-reliance. Creativity and activity are also influenced by these herbs.

Herbs of the moon
Associated with water and fluids. May have white flowers or fleshy leaves. The moon governs blood and phlegm, tears, saliva, urination, the endocrine system and menstruation. Herbs ruled by the moon cool excess fire and reduce heat signs in the body. They can assist in entering the underworld, lucid dreaming, hypnosis, past life recall and channeling. They increase sensitivity, empathy and imagination. They impart gratitude and grace.
