Innisfree farm is in Royston, a tiny hamlet on the east coast of Vancouver Island just south of Courtenay, in the scenic Comox Valley about an hour’s drive north from Nanaimo. There are two highway routes that link north and south Vancouver Island – the oceanfront 19A and the newer Inland Highway 19.
3636 Trent Road, Royson, B.C.
5 kms south of Courtenay, Vancouver Island, B.C.
Coming from the south end of Vancouver Island (i.e. from Nanaimo or Victoria) heading north along the new Highway 19, you have two route options:
Scenic Route – Take the Buckley Bay Exit off Highway 19 and at the T intersection for the Buckley Bay Ferry terminal, turn left onto Highway 19A towards Courtenay. After 18 Km or so along this oceanfront route, turn left at the traffic light in Royston onto Royston Road, heading towards Village of Cumberland. Cross over the railway line. Trent Road is the second road on the left after the tracks, and 3636 is the last house on the left before you come to the woods.
Speedier Route – Alternatively you can stay on Highway 19/Inland Island Highway all the way to Courtenay. Take Exit 117 for Cumberland, Comox and Courtenay then turn right onto the Highway Connector road. After one Km or so (by the Visitor’s Center), take the first exit on the right onto Minto Road. After 4 Km you come to a T intersection with Royston Road. Turn left, Trent Road is the first turn on the right, 3636 is the last house on the left.
